the application i made for the Ubuntu App Showdown “BooruView” is now available as download. You can download it using the APT package manager (Instructions here) or just build the project yourself on Github or Launchpad.
Why is the application not in the Ubuntu Software Center?
Well, i’m a little bit shocked about the reason from Canonical but applications which interact with Booru systems are not allowed, because they could offend the Ubuntu Code of Conduct. So i’ve implemented a filter which prevents you to see that kind of content (you’re of course able to disable the filter), but it seems they couldn’t care less.
By the way for the same reason BooruView got rejected in the Ubuntu App Showdown.
